Description
Composition made up of rectangles joined together by a connecting element. The artist draws a symmetry from the central element of the piece: a pawn with a round head, outstretched arms and an elongated T-shaped body. Its edges extend beyond the comfort zone, generating a protective black square around the human figure in faint ‘griffures’. Both rectangles, placed at the ends, are dark, mottled, striped, greyish, contrasting with the central rectangle, light and clean, where the pedestrian is confined.
Supporting this trilogy, another rectangle runs the length of the print. At the top is the black marking of the square's base. Dyed ochre, its surface is divided in two by the effect of diagonal grooves drawn from the upper half. The lower half is centred by three brown semi-circles adorned with wild flowers. There is a final rectangle below the previous one. It serves as the basis for the geometric composition, occupying the entire horizontal length of the print. Salmon-coloured, it conveys liveliness to the rest of the set, which has cool tones. In the centre are three circles, saturated in cadmium light red, representing a field of wild flowers in the negative and up to the middle. The similarity between this image and the one depicted in the brown semi-circumferences is identical, which is why we can once again identify the introduction of symmetry and repetition, a characteristic element of Dacos' works.
