Description
The overall design consists of dark spots with red details.
The lower half of the engraving is painted on a black background where the numbers ‘1:622 - 1:655’ and ‘1:62’ are drawn.
The other characters are small and practically unnoticeable. Atmosphere blackened by two tubes plunged into a deep black sea. Two spheres rest in the depths.
The print is framed in light grey.
The sky, which is partially visible, is divided horizontally and is obstructed by a dark, dense cloud that covers four fifths of it. The upper limit of the cloud coincides with the top of the print and the lower limit forms wide waves along the entire length of the print.
This cloud is generated from two vertical red tubes, black at the ends, located in the centre of the print, which resemble pipes spewing smoke.
The lower half of the picture is painted on a black background where the following are drawn:
a) the vertical and centred reflection of the two pipes,
b) in the left half, a table with two columns, one narrower, the other wider, where red characters of various sizes stand out. The numbers ‘1:622 - 1:655’ stand out at the top of the table, written horizontally. Similarly, the numbers "1:62" are aligned in red to the left of the sphere in the lower part of the table.
The other characters are small and practically unnoticeable, covering the entire area of the table. Below is a luminous cream sphere surrounded by an irregular red atmosphere.
There are two cut cords, just discernible from the outline, which support it and extend to the left into the grey frame, overflowing it.
c) the right half is predominantly deep black, where it is only possible to make out another larger sphere,
grey, located at the bottom of the work.
It is only recognisable by the reflection of the light concentrated in its centre.
The background is defined by the undulating horizon line, which separates the black "sea" from the still partially clear sky.
