Description
Agua-forte representing a piece of neoclassical black furniture.
This wooden piece of furniture resembles a desk without a top, with an opening at the front where a trumpet is stored horizontally. Supporting the cabinet is a rectangular wooden module.
The piece of furniture is almost quadrangular, dark brown in colour and neoclassical in style. The sides have columns supporting capitals decorated with acanthus leaves. The cornice has a bar adorned with a sequence of small circles encircled in a darker brown colour.
The inside of the cabinet is black. There, raised horizontally, is a trumpet and at the base of the cabinet we can see some shadows that are vaguely reminiscent of a cross. The various parts of the musical instrument are visible in shadows: the mouthpiece, the bell for projecting the sound, the pumps, and in a more defined way, with a polished golden colour: the pistons and the tubes with springs.
The rectangular wooden module is underneath the furniture and runs along its entire length. Divided evenly into six sections, each one is occupied by a distinct, centralised figurative element in the same polished gold tone as the trumpet. Describing the occupation of the sections from left to right:
1 - The first section shows a figure resembling a full flour sack, with twisted ends and a square label, the inscriptions of which are illegible.
2 - The second section shows a dove with its wings spread, its body pointing to the right, with a dark ball attached to its legs
3 - The third section shows a whale pointing to the right
4 - The fourth section centres on a classical guitar, seen from the front but with its body lying down
5 - The fifth section shows a dollar bill superimposed on another bill
6 - The last section shows the black head of an ox pointing to the left. Two long clear, pointed and vertical horns stand out, as well as a clear snout.
