Description
Duplication of two human forms separated by a bubble. The words “life” and “death” written on opposite sides and the continuity established both by lines and by the balance of the composition and placement of the elements suggest a subjective symbolic interpretation of the work. In shades of lilac and black, the scene takes place outside, in front of a wall with three vertical black entrances, culminating in perfect arches above. The capital and the back of each arch are decorated with a pattern of small arabesques. The walls are traced vertically from the capital to the base of the engraving, in black and with closed scratches.
Between the central entrance and the left entrance, one of the two human figures is suspended on the tip of its right foot. His left leg is bent at a right angle, his head is raised and his arms are advanced and raised to his chest. Stained by lichens, it follows the pattern that covers the entire lower section of the engraving.
On the right, a duplicate of the previous figure has been drawn. However, it is placed a few centimeters below, has no coloring whatsoever, its lower limbs are missing and its right hand is destroyed, ending in a fan of strokes. Below this is a skull and the word “DEATH”, written in large letters.A semi-transparent bubble is placed between the two figures. It is level with the figures' knees. Inside is a hand that is disproportionate to the man it is stroking. With a serious face and a hat on his head, the man is leaning against the pillar of the central entrance. The number three is inscribed inversely on the hand.
There is a conductive line running through the entire picture. Discontinuously, it connects the word “life” on the left.
It restarts continuously at the tip of the right hand of the lichen-stained figure on the left, and continues to the center of the chest of the duplicate figure on the right.
