Description
This engraving can be seen as a surrealist work due to its combination of the figurative and the abstract. The composition depicts gray-blue curvilinear shapes on a black background.
In the foreground are two figures resembling rounded, disproportionate human busts, placed in profile and facing each other, with round eyes and drooping eyelids. They have no ears or mouths, and their spaghetti-like hair rises from the back of their foreheads and falls backwards. Their chins are coarse and their busts huge.
There is a surreal landscape between the two figures. Filling the gap is a “kind” of jellyfish with a rounded bell and dangling tentacles.
The background is black, with a gray spot in the upper left corner of the print. It is a representation similar to the windows of a circular balcony or a spaceship. There is also a connection between a central corridor and the top left-hand corner of the print where the “ship” is located.
