Description
Engraving, colored in permanent violet and white, with deeply tribal and rudimentary figurative motifs. Framed in violet, the scene is adorned by a background mixed with white lines, similar to a straw weave. There is a visual confrontation between two naked women sitting in profile on a beast with a human head, also represented in profile. Facing each other, with their eyes bulging, the women are balancing with their arms out and their backs straight. The one on the left has short hair, full lips and a half-open mouth. Her eye is drawn on her prominent forehead and her nose sticks out like a little finger. She is sitting on the animal's croup, with her legs apart and stretched out, and her left foot overlaps her right foot.
The woman on the right has a fish-like countenance, an open mouth, plump lips, no nose and a round eye. Her hair is long and shaped like a basset's ear. Her body is slender, she is sitting on the animal's head, her legs apart and her left foot resting on the beast's neck. It occupies the lower half of the picture.
The beast has a bulky, violet-colored body, the result of a fusion between a cat and a bovine. Its legs are strong. Its slender tail is raised vertically, tangent to the back of the woman sitting on the left of the picture. The head, oriented to the right, is human, bald, supporting two long pointed horns. The eye, ear, lips and nostril are exaggerated in relation to the size of the head.
