Description
Print combining the feminine element and a child's drawing. Vertical grey base with a horizontal rectangle in the upper half and a square centred in the lower half. The grey base concentrates punctuated shadows achieved with a fine tip, from the densification of griffures. In the upper half of the print, the artist has intensified the framing of the work by marking a black half-frame. In the background, in the lower half of the print and behind the square, is a lying egg, shaded in black. The inside of the square has a thin ochre line tracing a childish human figure. The round head, as well as the circular torso, is supported by two vertical lines spaced apart, which represent the legs, without feet. The arms are similar, straight, drawn almost horizontally from the torso. The fingers appear, without rigour, as random strokes at the ends of the arms. The face has no volume. The distant eyes are represented by crosses, the straight nose is at eye level, and the lips are plump but misaligned, located below the nose. You can also see a kind of doll drawn horizontally below the legs of the figure described above. This last doll is drawn in a more intense ochre colour, with a straight body, raised legs facing to the left and its head resting on the ground (base of the square), where it looks like grass is growing.
The square is coloured light ochre yellow, randomly spotted and varying in size and intensity. A vertical dark ochre spot stands out, resembling an umbilical cord.
It starts from the child doll's belly and extends to the face. It continues upwards and then runs out of the square and into the middle of the base of the rectangle. There the cord is diluted in the composition, tinted cadmium light red, the same colour as the shirt depicted, which leaves two distant female breasts uncovered.
The image is powerful, sensual, almost erotic. The clean, luminous neck and bust contrast with the light cadmium red of the shirt. The shirt is buttoned at the bottom and forces the breasts to rise.
