Description
It is the deepest and largest chordophone in the mandolin family, assembled with four orders, one single and three double (1+ 3x2 = 7 strings), C, G, D, A, tuned with intervals of fifths, the equivalent of the cello (four strings) in the violin family. It has the function of a ‘bass’ like the Italian ‘mandoloncello’ in the mandolin family.
