Keyword
Keyword searches return all material containing that word, i.e. in a title, description, person, organization, in-text etc.

title
Title searches return all material containing that word in a title.

ID

Object Type
These are descriptive tags usually assigned to ITEMS

Dates

Collection/Fund

WILDCARD (*)
For a better search return, consider using the asterisk (*) after the root of a word. For example, paint* will retrieve records containing the word "paint" and "paints"  and "painting"  etc.

Note:
"and" is assumed when search terms are entered in more than one Search box. 

HINT:
See Information on how the archive is organised. The identifier of a Fund is a complex compositions of letters. e.g. PT/UA-SBIDM/AC/CM/CM where PT is the country, UA-SBIDM is the institution, AC is the Fund (Ada de Castro) CM is the Series (Colaboração Musical) and CM is the subseries (Composição Musical)
