Description
This jewellery box is a handmade piece, made of wood and veneered in rosewood. In the decoration, this jewellery box is edged with boxwood threads and rosewood strap. Due to its shape, the author called it "Baú" (Trunk). This was the first jewellery box to be designed by the artist.
Geometrically, it consists of two parts, the storage compartment and the lid, both hollow on the inside, and shaped like a rectangular parallelepiped and a semi-cylinder, respectively. The plane separating the compartment and the lid contains the axis of the semi-cylinder and is parallel to the base of the parallelepiped. The interior of the union of these two solids constitutes the utilitarian part of the piece. Between the compartment and the lid is a pair of brass hinges, parallel to the axis of the semi-cylinder, also manufactured by the author, allowing the jewellery box to open up to 180°.

Internal Notes
