This jewellery box is a handmade piece, crafted out of fine woods, coated in bird’s eye, and mounted on a cubic lattice in holy wood. Due to the complexity of the structure, the author called it "Structure".Geometrically, this jewellery box is composed by one cube that forms the structure where two square prisms with different heights fit, creating the lid and the body of the jewellery box. The smaller square prism works as the lid, and the larger square prism works as the compartment. The lid and the compartment of the jewellery box are fixed to the cubic structure so that, in the opening process, the structure separates into two parts, revealing its fitting point, which coincides with the line that outlines the two square prisms.

Este guarda-joias foi construído na década dos anos 90, do século 20, com madeiras nobres, revestida a olho-de-perdiz e montada num reticulado cúbico em pau-santo. Devido à complexidade da estrutura, o autor designou-a por "Estrutura". A peça é essencialmente decorativa, no entanto, o seu cariz é utilitário, servindo portanto, como guarda-joias. O guarda-joias "Estrutura" faz parte integrante da coleção dos 81 guarda-joias, doada à Universidade de Aveiro pelo Sr. Eng.º Joaquim Domingos Capela em Dezembro de 2013.Languages
